Maxime Coulombe

Postdoctoral researcher (Western University)

Maxime is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Consortium on Electoral Democracy and the University of Western Ontario Political Science Department.

As a PhD student, Maxime was a member of the Chair. He defended his Ph.D. in political science at the Université de Montréal in September 2023. His research is at the intersection of political behaviour, social psychology, and comparative politics. Maxime is broadly interested in questions on elections, political participation, social norms, Canadian politics, public opinion, voting rules, and electoral reform. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on the mechanism linking social pressure to vote and electoral participation. Two of the empirical chapters were also published as journal articles in Electoral Studies and in the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties.
