Semih Cakir is a postdoctoral researcher in the PARTISAN project at the University of Vienna. During his MA and PhD studies at the Université de Montréal, he was a member of the Chair. His PhD thesis focused on the influence of elite ideological polarization on mass ideological and affective polarization. He also earned his M.Sc. in Political Science at Université de Montréal. His research interests lie in political parties and voter behaviour with a specific focus on partisanship, polarisation, and democratic citizenship.
