Amanda Leal graduated from the University of Montreal with an MA in political science (MAPI). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Her research interests are focused on the intersection of democracy and technology, including the influence of social media and emerging technologies in the electoral process. Amanda currently works in international AI governance and is part of the OECD expert group on AI, Data, and Privacy. She co-authored publications such as UNESCO’s “Missing Links in AI Governance” and UN-Habitat’s “AI and Cities.
