In April 2024, Baowen Liang successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Université de Montréal. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Université du Québec à Montréal, working with Professor Allison Harell.
He conducts research at the intersection of political science and psychology. He is interested in understanding how culture can shape citizens’ political attitudes and behavior, with a regional focus on East Asia. His PhD dissertation investigated the influence of Confucianism on negativity biases and gender gaps in political participation.
