Visitor at the Chair, May 2017
Remko Voogd has been a PhD student at the University of Amsterdam since November 2014, after obtaining his Bachelor’s and Research Masters degrees in Political Sciences at Leiden University. His research focuses on the (supposed) circular relation between political trust and electoral volatility. The main questions are to what extent individuals’ levels and changes in political trust affect volatile voting, and how living in a country with high levels of volatility at the system level might on its turn feed back into lower levels of political trust. In his PhD project he uses mainly quantitative methods to test the hypotheses on national level panel data and cross-national survey datasets.
