Philippe Mongrain

Post-doctoctoral researcher (McGill University)

Philippe Mongrain is a postdoctoral researcher in political science at McGill University under the supervision of Éric Bélanger. Philippe wrote his doctoral dissertation on the formation of citizens’ electoral expectations under the supervision of Jean-François Godbout et Ruth Dassonneville at the University of Montreal. For this project, he was awarded a doctoral scholarship from the Fonds de recherche du Québec in 2017 and a doctoral fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council in 2020. His work focuses mainly on electoral behaviour, election forecasting, and public opinion. Philippe has published several articles on electoral forecasting in journals such as the European Journal of Political Research, the International Journal of Forecasting, and the International Journal of Public Opinion Research. As of June 2023, Philippe will be a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp in the Media, Movements and Politics (M2P) group.
