Valentin obtained a bidisciplinary BA in political science and economics at Sciences Po Grenoble before gaining an MA in research design at Sciences Po Grenoble (2018) and an MA in political science from the Université Paris Panthéon Sorbonne (2019). He also pursued research on ideological and social cleavages in the electorate at the Survey Research Center of the University of Princeton (2018). In his MA thesis, Valentin studied geographical patterns in the vote during the French Presidential elections of 2012 and 2017. He is currently a PhD student in the department of political science at the Université de Montréal. He is particularly interested in electoral geography and in the connections between economic conditions and political behaviour at both the individual and aggregate levels.
