The Chair welcomes MA and PhD students who wish to do research on elections, voting behaviour or political parties. If you wish to write your MA- or PhD-thesis under the supervision of Ruth Dassonneville on any of these topics, please send an email with your CV as well as research ideas to ruth.dassonneville@umontreal.ca.

Prospective students have to apply to the MA-program or PhD-program of the department of political science at Université de Montréal.

Students at the Chair have access to office space and are involved in different research projects. If admitted, you will be a member of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CSDC) as well. The CSDC brings together scholars doing research on democratic citizenship (elections, political representation, civic engagement,…). The CSDC offers several additional student funding opportunities, including travel grants, methods training grants, and international exchange grants. The CSDC hosts a regular speaker series bringing in scholars from across the world who work on questions regarding political behaviour and representation. Doctoral students at the Chair are strongly encouraged to participate in the Winter School on Elections as well, that is organized jointly by the University of Leuven and the Université de Montréal.
