Susanne Garritzmann is a political scientist at the University of Konstanz, Germany. Susanne is interested in political behaviour, especially turnout in elections. In her dissertation, Susanne investigates how the institutional design of education systems moderates the education-turnout nexus in a cross-national perspective. She works at the intersection of public policy and political behaviour, while also drawing on economic and sociological education research as well as political psychology. In November 2018 Susanne is a visiting doctoral student at the Université de Montréal, hosted by Ruth Dassonneville.

Before starting her PhD in Konstanz, Susanne obtained a Bachelor in Political Science and Economics at the University of Münster and a double Master’s degree in Political Science at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and at the University of Konstanz. In 2017, she has been Visiting Scholar at Duke University. Besides her own research, Susanne currently is helping to manage a large multi-year collaborative research cluster on “Political Dimensions of Inequality”, funded by the German “Excellence Initiative”.
